Acquasolve

Scale and corrosion contamination costs industry millions of dollars each year. QED Occtech has developed a new generation product that combats both these problems.

Hard water scale is the result of calcium and magnesium precipitating out of solution when the water is heated or chilled. Corrosion occurs when materials essential properties are broken down due to chemical reactions as a result of the surrounding environment. The most common form of corrosion is rust, which occurs as a result of metals contacting with water and oxygen.

QED Occtech has developed a single product called "Acquasolve" that is highly effective at controlling both problems. The product has some superior features over traditional products to inhibit scale & corrosion, namely;

  • Approved by the NSF for use in potable drinking water,
  • Acquasolve not only inhibits scale & corrosion but also has a second mode of action that reverses the damage already caused to pipe work. This feature has allowed our clients to save thousands of dollars in replacement pipes.
  • Acquasolve can be dosed at a single point and provide protection for all fixtures and fittings that receive that water.

Acquasolve is being successfully used in the following industry sectors:

Hotels, hospitals & apartment complexes

With the number of fixtures and fittings and expensive equipment such as combi-steam ovens, the cost of scale and corrosion can be devastating. The problem is particularly prevalent in areas with hard water such as Perth, Western Australia and Tampa & Orlando, Florida. QED Occtech has offices in both these territories, which can be contacted via the "contact us" page.

Marine Sector

With key expertise in reverse osmosis, QED Occtech understands some of the problems associated with desalinated water. In the marine sector the use of RO and distillation for potable water supplies is growing rapidly. Unfortunately the pipe work to deliver the clean water is rarely selected correctly for this purpose. Without mineral content, desalinated water becomes a strong solvent, which quickly corrodes pipe work.

To better service this market we have appointed "Strategic Marine Maritime Solutions" to represent Acquasolve in the key markets of South East Asia and South America.

Mining Sector

Many mines experience major challenges from water quality. Many sites use artesian bores for process water, which are generally very hard and present scale issues. Other sites use reverse osmosis to create clean water, which is acidic and corrosive. Again Acquasolve is highly effective at controlling these problems before they impact expensive machinery.
