Aurecon Hatch assists in reagent system upgrade
Aurecon Hatch has been retained by BHPB Mitsubishi Alliance to provide engineering services for the greenfield upgrade of the flotation reagent system at the Riverside coal mine in Moranbah, Queensland, Australia.
The primary goal of the assignment is to help BMA eliminate hazardous zones within the preparation plant. The secondary goal is to improve automation and reduce vehicle interaction with the reagents’ bulk storage area.
The project will use an innovative technology that dilutes methyl isobutyl carbinol (MIBC) frother to eliminate flammability risks.
Engineering is scheduled for completion by March 2010, and the project implemented by the end of 2010.
The Aurecon Hatch offices in Mackay and Gladstone are undertaking the assignment.
