Hatch develops GHG abatement cost curve for OneSteel
Hatch has been retained by OneSteel to develop a preliminary greenhouse gas (GHG) marginal abatement cost curve (MACC) incorporating all of the client’s operational sites in Australia.
Combining its MACC with that of BlueScope demonstrates the potential CO2 abatement that the Australian steel sector can achieve under various carbon-price scenarios.
Hatch will use its GHG Carbon Abatement Process (G-CAP) to develop the cost curve.
The project incorporates estimating GHG abatement and net present value for all of the identified energy/yield efficiency projects in the OneSteel long-term capital development pipeline.
The project is scheduled to be completed by September.
