Gracey wind-power project quality assurance
Hatch has been retained by Enercon Canada to provide quality-assurance services for the construction phase of the 10-MW Gracey wind-power project near Tilbury in Southwestern Ontario, Canada.
Hatch provided the structural design of the piled foundations for five Enercon E-82 wind turbines for the project.
The soil characteristics at the Gracey Wind Project site are both unique and complex.
Enercon selected Hatch for the design and construction monitoring of the wind turbine foundations because of our design experience with the E-82, and our understanding of Canadian codes and standards.
Foundation construction will be completed in July 2010, followed by the erection of the turbines. Commercial operation is scheduled for Q4 2010.
Hatch Niagara Falls will manage the assignment.
