The project included detailed engineering and procurement of a Radiometric Sorter and associated equipment for the ERA Ranger operation. The unit is intended as a pilot unit to test the sorting performance at Ranger. The radiometric sorter detects uranium levels in the feed ore and rejects material containing uneconomic grades of uranium. The unit can significantly reduce the quantity of material which is processed downstream, resulting in reduced tailings treatment and containment volumes.
Prefeasibility study, feasibility study, detailed design, implementation, and commissioning.
The project incorporates the implementation of proprietary Ultrasort Radiometric Sorter technology. A successful outcome led to Hatch’s appointment to complete the ERA Ranger Expansion Project prefeasibility and feasibility studies.
