Abstract
Thermal gravimetic analysis was used to determine the weight chancge of Ni/Cu/Co calcines upon heating in argon and carbon monoxide. The two calcines studied contained approximately 50wt% combined of hematite and magnetite in addition to NI, CU, and FE suplhides. The calcined samples were100% less than 100 um with prous hematite/magnetite rims around the central sulphide core. Mass spectrometry was used to analyse the gas species which evolved during heating and reduction, while thermal gravimetric analysis )TGA) was used to meausre the weight changes.
