Abstract
The Converting Furnace Integrity Project at the Kidd Creek Copper Smelter ensures a safe and reliable operation of the Mitsubishi continuous furnace line. The program is aimed at increasing the convening fismaee bathline service life and the hearth life from the current 12-15 months and 4-5 years to 30 months and 10 years respectively. This paper focuses on some modifications made during the recently completed shutdown in March, 1997.
