Abstract
The Hatch Product Transport system is a highly flexible and fully configurable route selection and sequencing system for controlling bulk material handling facilities.
The first of this innovative System has been deployed at BHP Billiton Iron Ore's Port Hedland stockyard to control over 300 items of route equipment. The system's success lies in its inherent ability to maximise the number of product routes through the facility whilst reducing the associated complexity. Its groundbreaking overlaid route concepts utilises latent plant availability to achieve simultaneous equipment start-up, whilst
maintaining safe product flow interlocks and hot swapping of routes to improve plant productivity.
