Abstract
Hatch developed the Hatch Compact Reduced Iron Steelmaking Process (CRISP) as a response to the needs of the steel industry. The key incentives for this novel process were significantly improved plant availability and energy efficiency together with reduced electrode and refractory costs at a lower capital cost.
