PANYNJ retained Hatch to examine energy usage at several of its airport, rail transportation and container port facilities, as a first step toward achieving its goal of installing a phased sequence of wind power and other forms of clean renewable energy. PANYNJ selected Hatch as a good fit to continue to bring our global experience in clean, renewable energy to their organization.
Hatch performed wind resource assessment using meso scale data, examined the environmental and other issues related to installing power generation at the site. Hatch installed a meteorological tower instrumented to hub height and commenced interconnection engineering. Site safety was reviewed allowing for ongoing Global marine auto–terminal operations.
Environmental conditions will be studied by Hatch Mott MacDonald as the project layouts are further refined.
- The first phase engineering was completed on time, on budget
- Innovative wind turbine layouts were developed with the owner as an integrated team with Hatch.
