Abstract
The Great Lakes Power Limited (GLP) is a private utility that generates, transmits and distributes power in the Algoma district of northern Ontario, Canada. Running this power plant at optimum efficiency requires fast thinking and good judgement. By using a computerized decision support system, plant operators are able to conserve not only power but also money.
