Abstract
In a time when market demand is in a state of perpetual flux, it is imperative that the operating philosophies of a bar and wire rod mill be optimized, particularly for a mill with diverse product ranges and customers order requirements. This paper presents an example of how dynamic simulations can be used to accurately determine the impact of operating philosophy on mill productivity and achievable production volume.
