Abstract
Aluminum producers are faced with implementing their corporate growth strategies in an industry undergoing global restructuring. Their investment options include acquisitions and capital projects, each of which must be rigorously evaluated with regards to Technology, Environment, Capital and Operating Costs, Quality and Market issues. In this presentation Hatch will discuss the major issues to be covered in investment evaluation and discuss the various analytical tools available with supporting examples of their use within the metals industry. Included will be discussions of an appropriate evaluation process to be used in considering multiple investment options which can be tailored to the unique strategy of each producer.
