Robert Metka joined Hatch in 1998 and appointed Managing Director, Hatch Africa in 2003. In 2004, Mr. Metka was nominated to the Hatch Board of Directors. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan where he holds a B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering and MIT where he holds a Master of Science in Management, Sloan Fellowship.
Mr. Metka’s expertise includes the general management of metallurgical operations, major projects and engineering for mines and metallurgical plants as well as the associated recycling businesses, and the management of environmental impact assessments, dealing with superfund legislation and project financing.
Professional affiliations include the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
